The Madison Park Group is seeking a Graphic Designer with experience in retail product development, packaging and catalog design/production to work in the art department in our Capitol Hill (Seattle, WA) office.

We need a highly motivated, self-directed and enthusiastic person that has a passion for design and product development. You must enjoy working closely with artists on multiple projects and thrive on the challenges associated with creating retail product. Work may get a bit crazy at times, but will be equally exciting and fun.

Responsibilities:

• Design for print: 3-D gift/stationery products, greeting cards; marketing/catalog, advertising design and production; in-house digital photo shoots - digital photography skills a plus.

• Ability to create innovative designs using existing artwork while maintaining integrity of artists' style.

• Must be able to juggle various projects and handle tight deadlines in a very fast-paced environment.

• Follow creative work through from concept to pre-press and production.

• Effectively prepare artwork for production; assuring projects are press-ready.

• Scan and color correct artwork and photographs, attend press checks locally.

• Create product jpegs for web site and PR, keep site current with photos.

• Update content on templated site manager as needed.

Requirements:

• A stellar portfolio that shows a strong sense of typography, color and conceptual thinking.

• Solid knowledge of print production process.

• Experience in communicating with outside vendors and artists regarding pre-press, concepts, design, production. Client-facing skills a plus.

• Ability to manage own workload and handle a fast paced, deadline-driven environment. Able to adhere to deadlines while working on multiple and diverse projects. Work independently and with direction as part of a team.

• Flexibility - knowledge that ratio of design/production will vary based on assignment.

• Graphic Design degree: BA/BS

• 3-5 years of professional graphic design experience

• Mastery in Mac OS software, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)
